Crime Stoppers

Raymond
About Lethbridge & Southern Alberta Crime Stoppers The mission of Crime Stoppers is, “to create a safer, more secure community.” Crime Stoppers, through its relationship with the Police Service, Public, and Media, provides an indispensable service. Without Crime Stoppers and the guarantee of anonymity it provides to those who call in or submit tips, many criminal cases would go unsolved. To ensure its success, Crime Stoppers depends on donations from individuals and corporations. Thanks to the tremendous support the program has received, Crime Stoppers has been truly successful. Why Do We Need Crime Stoppers? Crime Stoppers is based on the principal that “Someone other than the criminal has information that can solve a crime” and was created to combat the three major problems faced by law enforcement in generating that information: A fear of REPRISAL An attitude of APATHY, and A reluctance to get INVOLVED Crime Stoppers resolves these concerns by: Offering ANONYMITY to people who provide information about crimes. Paying REWARDS when the information supplied leads to arrest. Three Essential Elements Make Up a Crime Stoppers Program: The Community: Citizens become more involved and make a strong contribution towards solving crime in their communities. The Media: Crime Stoppers methods, objectives, successes, and special events are publicized on a regular basis by the media. The Police: A special Crime Stoppers phone with a well-publicized number is provided to the community. Callers are assigned a special Code number and NEVER give their names. If, after the investigation, the information leads to an arrest, the caller is entitled to a reward. Tipsters can also submit their tips online while continuing to remain anonymous. The Crime Stoppers program has enjoyed great success boasting an average conviction rate of 95% on cases solved by Crime Stoppers tips. The Crime Stoppers programs worldwide have solved over a half a million crimes and recovered over 6 billion dollars worth of stolen property and illegal drugs.

Lawyer Referral Service

Raymond
The Law Society’s Lawyer Referral service might help you find a lawyer when you need one. The service provides you with the contact information of up to three lawyers who will review what legal services might help you. Please note however, the service has no connection with Legal Aid Alberta nor does it provide any form of financially subsidized legal service you might find through charitable organizations like Pro Bono Law Alberta. Please note: As the regulator of Alberta lawyers, the Law Society must remain objective and does not provide referrals based on credentials or experience. Alberta lawyers have the option to sign up for the service and referrals are made based on the area(s) of law they indicate they are practising. How does Lawyer Referral work?: A Lawyer Referral operator will answer your call. Once you describe the nature of your problem, the operator will give you the names and telephone numbers of up to three lawyers practicing in the area of law that best suit your needs. You can then make appointments to talk to one, two, or all three of the lawyers; please be sure to mention you got their contact information from Lawyer Referral. When you talk to each lawyer, the first half-hour of the conversation is free and is the time to discuss your legal situation and explore your options. You should not expect the lawyer to do any free work during this time — that is not the purpose of Lawyer Referral. However, you could certainly ask what it might cost to have your legal work done and other questions to determine if the lawyer may be a good fit for you. Toll free from anywhere in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Lower Mainland British Columbia, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut: 1-800-661-1095

Raymond Chiropractic

15 Broadway North Raymond
Whether you are new to chiropractic or you have experienced the benefits of chiropractic in the past, Raymond Chiropractic welcomes you! We understand that in today's busy world, it is difficult to find time to take care of your health. Sometimes in order to save time here and there, we make sacrifices with our health in order to do things which we feel are more important. Unfortunately, sometimes these sacrifices can add up over the long run and we end up sick or injured. Often it takes more time to recover from these episodes than it would have to maintain our health in the first place. Whether you are trying to avoid problems in the future or are having one right now, we want to help you. We know that when you feel well, your whole family and those around you benefit. Getting chiropractic adjustments may seem like something small, but the benefits can be tremendous! When your spine is having problems you won't feel good, and you won't function well. Back pain, neck pain, headaches, and joint pain can all be caused by spinal misalignment. Chiropractic is extremely effective at treating spinal misalignment and at helping you to feel and function better. And when your body is functioning properly, you can focus on other things: your family, your job, your school work, your life. Our commitment to you is to help you have less pain and to function better.

Raymond High School

65 W 100 N Raymond
Grades 10 through 12. Raymond High School (RHS) is a secondary public school in Raymond, Alberta, Canada. The school is in the Westwind School Division and has approximately 250 students. This all began with the construction to the first school house in 1902 (Picture 1). The building was completed in 1903. It was not only used as the settlement's first schoolhouse, it was also used as the meetinghouse for the LDS Church and for other community events. As the town continued to grow the Knight Academy (Picture 2) was formed in 1910, and it became a Grade 9 to 12 school and then a high school. Later a new Raymond High School (Picture 3) was opened in 1952 west of the Opera House. With a strong interest in sports the Raymond High School was nicknamed the “Comets”. The first basketball scoreboard for any school in southern Alberta was situated in this school. This school also had an Industrial Arts and Home Economics program. Then in November 1963 it moved again (Picture 4) to the current Junior High location. There were improvements to the heat, lights, equipment and a full size gymnasium. In 2008 construction was started on the school we have today (Picture 5). It includes a 1,000 seat gymnasium, gathering space, modernization and a full functioning commercial kitchen. Even though the building has changed throughout the years one thing remains the same, and that is our mission statement: “We believe that all students can learn. It is our responsibility as the staff of Raymond High School to recognize individual differences and abilities. Through an educational partnership between student, teacher, parent and community, we ensure that every student is given the opportunity to succeed in a safe and caring environment.”
